Preparing organic infant formula is easy because it is similar to other products. Follow these steps for each baby feeding.
- Sterilize everything. Put bottles, rings, and nipples into boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Wash your hands with soap and warm water.
- Boil water that is new, not artificially softened, carbonated or alkaline. Do not substitute breast milk for water.
- When boiled water has been cooled to 122 degrees F / 50 degrees C, fill the bottle according to the feeding guide on the package.
- Using the provided scoop, add leveled scoops to the water in the bottle. Generally it is a 1:1 ratio of powder to water. Do not pack the powder.
- Close the bottle. Shake well until completely dissolved and evenly distributed.
- Recommended feeding temperature is 98.6 degrees F / 37 degrees C. Always check the temperature before feeding.
- Use the prepared formula within an hour of preparing it. Dispose of any leftover formula.
